ABSTRACT

The selected ULL areas for the cities of South Miami and Miami Beach are mostly influenced by the tropical monsoon climate based on the Koppen Climate Classification. The city's low sea level elevations, coastal and island locations, position just above the Tropic of Cancer, and proximity to the Gulf Stream shape its climatic dynamics. The wet season begins sometime in June, ending in mid-October. During this period, temperatures range from 29—35 °C, with increased heat island impacts due to climate change. Miami and the Greater Islands is one of the major US coastal cities most affected by Climate Change. Real estate prices in Miami already reflect the increase in real estate prices at a higher elevation within the city than real estate at a lower height. The Miami CRUNCH ULL addresses the FWE nexus for demography, infrastructure and properties, facilities, land use, and the pandemic.
