ABSTRACT

This chapter intends to alert foreign visitors to the value and importance of the bible. It advises the foreign visitors to respect the Sabbath and suggested how they should behave towards servants and others on the Lord’s Day. On visiting England, a stranger may be disposed to ask himself, whence it proceeds that England possesses such equal laws, free institutions, a settled government, with many other privileges and blessings? England does, indeed, possess a fountain of good; and the blood of our forefathers purchased it for us. England possesses, prizes, glories in An Open Bible! All may read it, all may examine it, all may correct their false views by its truths. All may possess the Holy Bible without any thing being added to it, or anything taken from it. From those sacred Scriptures we learn that the Sabbath is an institution of Divine authority and perpetual obligation.
