ABSTRACT

All that I know of my early years and family life are the stark facts in a file in the offices of the Department for Community Development. There are no family photographs, no memories, no family heirlooms, no school reports. Although I spent six years at a now notorious boarding school run by a religious organisation, their records merely show the date on which I was made a State ward (some two years after my arrival) and the date of my departure.
