ABSTRACT
As an academic detective, the students had learned to look for clues, to analyse various theories, and to support what they say with credible evidence. Before the students submit their assignment, it is time to proofread their work. Many academics use assignment marking rubrics or sheets that contain detailed marking criteria to help provide clear and consistent feedback to students. Ideally, the marking criteria should be available to all students along with their assignment topics. Most tertiary institutions, in cooperation with student unions, have adopted a charter of student rights and responsibilities. Handy Hint provides a basic list of rights that should be considered reasonable concerning assignments. This book gives the insights and skills that will enable the students to go forth into the world of academic knowledge.
