ABSTRACT

Introductions are meant to clarify the topic so that the reader can anticipate and understand what lies ahead in the rest of the essay. An essay is made up of three parts: a beginning, a middle, and an end. The body of an essay has two features: description and analysis. This is where the students present their case based on the evidence the students have amassed from their detective work during reading, as well as the explanations of the issues with which the students are dealing. The introduction to the student’s paragraph is known as the topic sentence. Topic sentences simply summarise or introduce what the students are going to say in their paragraph. The body of the paragraph then expands on this sentence by providing definitions, evidence, and further explanation. The conclusion of the paragraph is known as the linking sentence, which simply links the paragraph to the next one.
