ABSTRACT
In this chapter the author examines the evidence for anti-semitism in the work of Dickens concentrating on book and film versions of the novel Oliver Twist. The chapter also highlights the history of boy martyrs and the concept of ‘blood libel’ well known to some Victorian readers of Dickens’s work.
