Understanding around the high prevalence and impact of adversity and trauma within the Youth Justice population is growing with greater acknowledgement of the complex nature and needs of these young people. Therefore, adopting a Trauma-Informed Approach to Youth Justice Services is vital, but shifting organisational culture within statutory organisations is hard and takes time. Therefore, this chapter summarises the journey of one such organisation, reflecting on the processes and practices adopted to achieve this, including the barriers that they faced and overcame to achieve lasting service change. Throughout it gives the reader guidance on where to develop their own thinking further in order to guide other services to follow in their footsteps.
