The Academy, which works with professional bodies around the world, also provides many services for lawyers, the parties and of course arbitrators and arbitral institutions. The Academy is both a professional society and a qualifying body. As such it is a world-wide source of qualified independent Experts and Dispute Resolvers who are experienced in a wide range of professional, commercial and industrial disciplines. For experts the process has been in place since The Academy’s birth. The Chairman of the Vetting Committee is always a senior practising solicitor and he is supported by assessors and experienced experts and lawyers. Experts also report the tremendous benefit of having an accredited expert on the other side which enables the expert aspects to be dealt with more efficiently. By providing a forum for experts, lawyers, judges and interested bodies, it helps to maintain awareness of the need to achieve and maintain standards.
