ABSTRACT

This chapter features a detailed description of a 2020 spring semester instructional study involving Global Englishes lesson integration into a secondary English Language Arts curriculum. The description, which is provided by the teacher who taught the content, illustrates the ease of blending Global Englishes into an existing curriculum with specific lesson material examples and connections to English Language Arts content and skill development. Furthermore, the chapter illuminates the benefits of Global Englishes instruction by providing examples of increased student engagement and comprehension with content from the study. Recommendations and resources for educators seeking to implement similar instructional content are provided throughout the chapter, and a lesson plan that was successfully taught during the curriculum study is included in its conclusion.
