ABSTRACT
Like many human rights abuses and social problems, human trafficking occurs within a context of intersecting forms of oppression. Oppression, including racism, ethnic bias, sexism, heterosexism and classism create increased risk for human trafficking. This chapter will address the ways in which racism in particular as it impacts Black women and girls in the United States plays into vulnerability and exploitation through trafficking. In addition, recommendations for prevention and psychological intervention are included.
