ABSTRACT

The book's chapters embodies a variety of integrative and comprehensive presentations of important arguments and insights and, hence, pave the way to improve conceptual and implementation models of ways to intervene in order to support youth with no family to lean on. However, several theoretical, applied, and research needs emerge out of the various writings, including the needs for a more differential approach; an advanced clarification of major terms; better definition of the role of mentors, as well as improving the methods used to train and empower them; the possible integration of advanced technology; a comprehensive working model; and more developed governmental policies. These needs are valuable as the basis for further studies and interventions in this context.
