Introduction

Version 1 – It is imperative that researchers are well-versed in the latest cutting-edge methodological approaches and their congruent methods – whether (post)qualitative, quantitative, mixed, or transcendent of these labels – in order for research to make practical change in communities with which we are a part. Pasque and alexander designed this book to answer this call, and the current introductory chapter frames the entire volume. Importantly, the authors define culturally responsive research for a post-paradigm war era. Next, they share the book's story and how the collaborators came together. As a quick reference for the reader, Pasque and alexander introduce each chapter in the three sections to follow. Finally, they encourage readers to take up – and extend – the methodologies and methods presented in the volume to advance culturally sustaining research and engage with the world as it evolves.
