ABSTRACT

The roles and responsibilities for academic management were attributed to the Course Convenor and Programme Convenor. The University developed systematic support, such as role-based professional learning, a new role-based learning and teaching capabilities framework and defined career path and succession planning processes. Consequently, the role statement has only provided guidance for everyday programme leadership practice, it has also served as a common reference point for critical discussions about programme leadership within the University community, its importance and value, and how to intentionally best support and resource the role to facilitate sustainable educational practices that beneficently influence student learning and graduate outcomes. The intent of the revisions was to provide clear policy advice on the appointment process, position, responsibilities and key inter-relationships with adjunct positions directly involved in the effective delivery and quality assurance and enhancement of programs to enrich the student experience at Griffith University.
