ABSTRACT

Teachers can build on their practical wisdom by moving beyond intuition through learning from others, through collaboration, discussion and study. The profession needs to collectively show effectiveness borne out of true connection with every child through the core ambition of building deep learning through trust, co-agency and inclusion. Inventiveness means having the capacity to approach challenges with new ideas rather than age-old approaches. It requires pursuing what feels right with the professional courage to make changes that reject simple solutions in favour of ethical, values-led action. Teachers should be encouraged to welcome and celebrate difference as a strength. The peoples need to resist the push towards desire for uniformity and deficit thinking, instead moving towards a joyful clamour for greater diversity.
