Bipolar America book
In 2021, the liberal forces, encapsulated by Hollywood, pick this hate-filled moment to bestow praise and awards upon Lee Isaac Chung's Minari, as though the Korean immigrant family drama counterbalances anti-Asian hate crimes and sentiments. This chapter examines the trajectory of American bipolarization, swinging from hate at one end of the spectrum, manifested by AAA or Anti-Asian Anonymous to, at the other end, love showered on Minari, which is practically an invasive species to conservationists of native plants, reminiscent of the nativist rhetoric against the racial other. The investigation may yet reveal the truth behind the action of Elliot and the inaction of the security guard and bystanders, behind Long's bullets and Baker's official and unofficial, public and Facebook, statements. Satiated with Asian blood, bipolar America turns to water and life.
