ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses models of decision-making, their implications for teaching and how teachers in their trainee phase adopt specific strategies for teaching decision-making. It provides an overview of the subject matter, which is decision-making and creativity. The chapter presents the most significant methods of teaching creativity in team sports and their importance for teacher education. It focuses on a qualitative experiment on the acquisition of Game Sense strategies, in which German trainee teachers have participated and analyzes how inexperienced teachers accept, implement and assess modern conceptions of teaching team sports. The chapter looks at teacher education and the teaching of games. The structure of the aforementioned process of the training course guided our research approach. It orientated itself towards the qualitative experiment which is based on the idea that a single and one-dimensional intervention is not satisfactory.
