ABSTRACT

After several years in international education, Beccy Fox moved to Bali, Indonesia, married an Indonesian man, and took up a leadership position at an international school. These major events in her life ignited an interest in the development of cultural intelligence in international schools. This chapter illustrates how having an empathetic approach to understanding and appreciating differences in culture can reduce misunderstanding and frustrations that may arise when working in an international school in a multicultural setting.
