ABSTRACT

The UPRIGHT project: Universal Preventive Resilience Intervention Globally implemented in schools to improve and promote mental Health for Teenagers. The project began - as response to an increase in mental health issues among adolescence - with an agenda of researching whether it was possible to boost teenagers’ well-being and resilience through classroom interventions. The aim was to support adolescents by providing them with knowledge and tools to meet the challenges of ordinary life. None of those involved in the project had any idea that the newly learned competencies and skills would soon be stress-tested with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this chapter, we explore the following questions: How can we boost adolescents’ well-being and resilience under normal circumstances? And how can these efforts be adapted to address the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis? How can well-being and resilience education be transferred and adapted to online learning?
