ABSTRACT

A non-intellectual intimation of infinity is at once the emotional quality of the subject’s own consciousness of himself in relation to the world as an indeterminate celestial region of cosmic totality. Omalyce is the absolute cosmic creator of all and everything. He is omnipresent because he is the world in its entire cosmic extension. Infinity is present as the supporting dimension of the whole, correlative to the emotionality of the situation expressed by the mythic icon, namely that the first human being is the whole world. The sky and earth in their non-differentiated entirety are co-extensive with the closed corporeality of the creator. This absoluteness is his infinity. Infinity is the immanent presupposition of totality which intends to be whole of the world. Psychoanalytically, the mythic icon can be diagnosed as the indication of the deepest narcissistic strivings. Many a mythopoeic vision of the cosmos seems to encode the emotionality of such primordial consciousness of world in its astronomical expanse.
