ABSTRACT

This first chapter provides an overview of trans reproductive and sexual health, honing in on the concepts of reproductive and sexual rights compared to reproductive and sexual justice. The chapter then provides a brief overview of the topic area of trans reproductive and sexual health, emphasising the importance of accounts that move beyond ‘damage-centred’ approaches. The chapter then outlines some of the key concepts used within the book, which include trans temporality, cisgenderism, gender euphoria, and intersectionality. The chapter concludes with a summary of the substantive chapters, including with a focus on the positionality of the author teams.
