ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter summarizes key take-aways and connections across previous chapters, highlighting significant relationships between past experiences and current challenges in college football. Along with the introduction, this chapter provides a bookend component highlighting controversial societal issues. Specifically, the chapter describes progress and continuing opportunities to advance advocacy and pursuits of equity across student-athletes. It provides insights into organizational structures with examples leading to power and influence, including athletics conference-level and institution-based instances where college football led to increased recognition and prestige. The chapter also presents ideas for future considerations and potential opportunities to impact societal and actionable change through opportunities within college football.
