ABSTRACT

Experience with European donors and agencies reflects how deeply the humanitarian cycle depends on building awareness and collaboration. Without a web of donors there would be no assistance to meet growing international needs. But the catalysts for donor engagement and coordination are rarely discussed; organizations and field workers typically don’t ask what drives donors. In donor relations work, stories are vital: timely stories of those receiving aid and donors’ own stories together have the power to foster deeper connections and a web of relationships that recognize our shared humanity and encourage sustained collaboration toward a more just, resilient, and peaceful world.
