ABSTRACT

The Pacific region faces several reproductive health needs and challenges, including but not limited to a high unmet contraception need, high rates of sexually transmitted infections and cervical cancer, and limited access to safe abortion services. Sociocultural norms and values can both support and hinder efforts to improve sexual and reproductive health. However, amongst these challenges lie opportunities for change. Effective change has been demonstrated by and will continue to occur with community-driven and led strategies to improve sexual and reproductive health and well-being.
