ABSTRACT

Ìwà lẹwà and ọmọlúwàbí are both axiological terms in Yorùbá. They are used as judgements of being and conduct, taking on different facets of meaning depending on the context in which they are applied. In the context of performance, they are considered to be the goal of performers and a mode of judgement by audiences. Both concepts and terms have ìwà (being) as their root and are both applied in everyday life and for performance.
