ABSTRACT
What are suitable literal translations of a concept and what if none of them are satisfactory? Which English terms or phrases might capture the manifold meanings associated with a concept? This section on performance-related concepts from Indian languages deals with these questions by using concepts in transliteration directly in the English text, and thus in a form as close to the original as possible, while providing possible English meanings as additions and explanations.
