ABSTRACT

Instructors who want to simulate events in class are often scared off by the apparent complexity of the task, or having medium to large-sized classes and thinking it takes too much time. This chapter presents tips on how to simplify the process of building games and simulations, from choosing topics and roles through debriefing, grading, and assessment. It also addresses some tricky challenges in student motivation and behavior in the gaming environment—specifically, managing large classes and small groups.
