ABSTRACT
Climate change skeptics say that global warming is a recent “hoax,” a creation of some left-wing conspirators who want to intervene and control the markets. As the Industrial Revolution was rapidly developing at the time massively producing coal-burning steam engines, rail locomotives, ships, etc., In 2020, the human-induced greenhouse gas emissions are at their highest levels in history and continue to rise, warming the Earth’s surface rapidly, and producing huge negative effects: Rising sea levels and flooding, massive land degradation, extreme weather events, fires, and deforestation leading to significant human suffering, displacement, and disruption of economies. The Paris Agreement is complex in terms of legal characterization: It is written in a broad language to express the expected behavior of States, which varies from clear legal obligations to recommendations and general statements. It contains “hard” law, “soft” law and non-law.
