ABSTRACT
This chapter describes ongoing projects sponsored by Creative Opportunities Promoting Equality New York (COPE NYC), a cultural arts organization. COPE NYC’s mission is to bring people of diverse backgrounds together through community arts projects that prompt reflection on their commonalities and differences. It bridges local, national, and international communities through a rhizomatic approach to far-reaching creative platforms. This chapter focuses on the practice and philosophy of COPE NYC’s multifaceted projects as they evolve through the COPE NYC Green Expo in Brooklyn, NY; Repsychling, a traveling exhibit; and an artists-in-residence program in Taiwan.
