ABSTRACT
Born and raised in the Samara Western Sahara Saharawi refugee camp in Algeria, artist Mohamed Sleiman Labat takes the reader on a journey of the development of the Motif Art Studio. Built inside the camp, the studio supports workshops for sustainable creative practices and arts education, as well as preserving and sharing oral traditions. Sleiman Labat’s work is about envisioning an empowered Saharawi future.
