Cultivating Black diasporic memories and communities through community archiving

Désirée Rochat reflects on a community archive project at La Maison d’Haïti in Montreal Quebec to preserve and transmit (hi)stories of Black and Caribbean diasporic activism for future generations. The chapter describes the evolution of the archive project and the ways it relied on collaborative labor and fostered relationships and the transmission of collective memories. Through this process, community archiving participated in community building.
