ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the global community, so more emphasis is needed on collective action to help alleviate social problems. This means encouraging a proactive approach that enables new knowledge to be developed that has the potential to lead to innovative outcomes. The aim of this chapter is to discuss in more detail the way open innovation can enable more coopetition and collaboration to emerge in the global economy. This enables a sense of solidarity to emerge that enables a more collectivist approach to the COVID-19 pandemic. Social forms of innovation in terms of ecosystems are also stated that provides a holistic view about the role of entrepreneurship in society.
