ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 crisis has transformed the world in a way that has never been seen before. This has impacted small businesses in a number of ways most notably through how they conduct their business transactions. The biggest change due to COVID-19 for small businesses has been a quick shift to digital transactions and an alteration to health and safety rules. As a result, there is a need to embed more crisis and resilience thinking into small business and entrepreneurship research. The goal of this chapter is to discuss the linkage between COVID-19, entrepreneurship, and small business. This will enable a better understanding about how small business is adapting to the new market conditions and the role of entrepreneurship in this process. Future research suggestions will be stated that place importance on developing a new perspective about the role of COVID-19 in society.
