ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the terrorism acts in Indonesia under the name of Islamic terrorist community, and analyze the programmes implemented on the terrorists convicted and also their wives. After World War II, psychologists began to acknowledge that an individual’s interaction and behaviour are influenced by people around them. Various programmes or projects on countering violent extremism and terrorism have been conducted in many countries. In order to reinforce peace, Afghanistan has implemented a programme known as Takhim-e Solh. The programme contains rehabilitation for former combatants, until they are once again considered to be able to merge with society. In non-governmental institutions, there are also non-government organisations (NGOs) that develop programmes in prisons to target the terror convicts. The Counter-Takfiri subject was delivered through dialogue on Islamic values and associating it with the takfiri phenomenon that has been rampant lately.
