ABSTRACT

The larger companies have established the strategy of working remotely (a work arrangement Italy was remarkably behind on). The emergency will teach companies and businesses, even smaller ones, that letting their employees telework from home will be far more cost-effective for them and less stressful for their workers. The hestiation will also take place in new domains like video teaching, both cost-effective and time-saving: no commuting, lower school maintenance, and wider job opportunities with no need to live where one works. Every technological innovation provokes an initial aversion, and as Roy Lewis argued: Even in Paleolithic times there must have been aging conservatives who execrated the innovative frenzies of those who tried to rebel against nature by inventing fire, arrows, spears, matrimony, exploration and such devilish ideas. The arguments of analysts who reject video are basically those used by teachers: the physical presence of the analyst is essential to the analytic relationship.
