ABSTRACT

“You’re the most unselfish person I have ever met!” is a refrain I commonly hear. Putting others first has always been easy for me. I’ve always thought of myself as a very considerate person. But being too considerate, I’ve discovered, has drawbacks. I put others first because, often, it’s the easy way out. It helps me cope, although not necessarily deal, with issues in my own life. If I focus on helping others, I figure, perhaps my troubles won’t loom quite so large.
