ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book aims to take a further step towards a more thorough integration of both fields of research. It seeks to bring together leading scholars of memory and imagination on an equal footing. The central question that we want to address is how memory and imagination relate to one another. The book consists of novel contributions to ontological issues regarding the nature of memory and imagination and their respective structural features. It focuses on questions of justification and perspective regarding both states. The book discusses issues regarding memory and imagination as skills or abilities. It focuses on the relation between memory, imagination, and emotion.
