ABSTRACT
Resistance is always a preamble to creative subversion: It occurs at the individual and/or collective levels. When civic resistance occurs anywhere in the world, it is an opportune time to participate as a qualitative researcher to ethnographically describe and interpret social rebellion and indignation worldwide. The year 2020 is and will be remembered as a very meaningful one. It is a year that combines – as never seen before – apocalyptic visions, conspiracy theories, fake news, and horrendous scenes for the future after the coronavirus pandemic. Jara-Labarthe and Cisneros Puebla have analyzed the situation of immigrants to Chile as a vulnerable population during the emergency produced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Cisneros has produced an interpretation of the Chilean social rebellion recently started in October 18, 2020. Such an interpretation is based on the analysis of social conflict as a drama.
