The graduate in an employment team
This chapter draws on others in this book that have outlined the role of the progressing graduate practitioner and explores the role within the workplace. Moreover, it considers the options post-qualification that enable the graduate practitioner to build on their values and beliefs concerning future direction. The chapter investigates the history of the graduate practitioner, highlighting key influences throughout the journey. It considers the importance of raising the profile and value of a graduate practitioner by reflecting on the role within team working relationships. International comparisons are considered in relation to qualification level, and it explores the explicit and implicit skills that are often empowered by the underpinning passion for the role.
