ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights the importance and value of work-based learning. It highlights the theoretical perspectives and the real-life experiences of those engaged in working and studying. It creates the very important link between Foundation Degrees in Early Years and the role of the practitioner in the workplace whilst not forgetting the challenge for the student who works and studies at the same time. It highlights the importance of professional development and research in order to create change. Above all it highlights the excellent practice of those who are studying and working and the dual benefits and challenges of this format.
