ABSTRACT
The continent of Africa is very large and diverse. The need for media training reflected the changes occurring across the continent. Many media training programs have been conducted there since the 1990s. Trainers have conducted training programs in West Africa, Southern Africa, and East Africa. This chapter reflects the experiences of 2 trainers and more than 25 training programs. Some of the training programs focused on journalism while other programs were designed to help new private radio and TV stations become profitable.
