ABSTRACT

The use of valid, accurate, and reliable systems is important for ensuring accurate data collection and the correct interpretation of values. Thus, the aim of this chapter was to summarize the evidence about the validity and reliability of local positioning systems (LPSs) to measure movement patterns in sports. Descriptions of the data are determined, and some considerations about the use of this system are provided. Additionally, information about the validity and reliability of the available systems in the market are described in detail. Finally, a summary of the characteristics of the different brands and models available in the market is provided.
