What (and why) are mindlines?

In this chapter, we summarise the mindlines model that arose from our ethnographies and explore some of its ramifications. We will do this without burdening readers with the hundreds of academic references that underpin what we say; those can be found in our other publications and in the chapters that follow. We will, however, acknowledge some of the seminal classics that underpin our model.
