ABSTRACT

In this chapter, Tricia Tooman uses a longitudinal case study of sepsis-focused knowledge to understand more about the connections between continuous professional development, clinical practice, and mindlines. She studied three interconnected research, policy, and practice communities to uncover structures important to mindlines development and enhancement. Her work traces the way in which new, life-saving developments in the care of sepsis were ‘shepherded’ into practice over decades of innovation as collective mindlines shifted and grew.
