ABSTRACT

This essay explores the relationship between time and power in the current youth-led uprising in Thailand and how arts engage in the fight against oppression. There are many slogans related to the concept of time circulating in the protests, such as “time is on our side” and “let it end in our generation.” These slogans suggest an agenda of now that counters the rhetoric “give us a little more time” of the military government and the long-lasting domination of the monarchy in politics.
