ABSTRACT

Yet another southern state where a state party did well was Telangana though it was not an outright win for the TRS. Sensing the uncertainty of the outcome, the TRS leader and the incumbent chief minister KC Rao was prudent enough to get the assembly elections preponed to ward off the BJP challenge. As it turned out, the voters did make a clear distinction between the national and state election and showed an inclination to vote for the national parties in the Lok Sabha election while going for the TRS in the assembly election.
