ABSTRACT

The chapter will focus on recent developments in contemporary dance in Hong Kong featuring key artists and companies. A focus will be a discussion on the formation of the Asia Network for Dance (AND+). The network responded to the rise of theatre and performing arts infrastructure in Asia, leading to matters about Asian artist circulation and collaboration, residency programmes, producers, and understanding of Asian dance works. Our conversations led to formalizing the network/platform, and it has grown from there to include other colleagues and countries, yet it remains within the context of the Hong Kong West Kowloon arts district vision.
