ABSTRACT

This introductory chapter to the first book in the Routledge Focus on Team Academy series, examines briefly the place and purpose of the Team Academy (TA) model in entrepreneurship education, and indicates how and why the model has grown in popularity and interest over the last 3 decades. The chapter then briefly explores the editors' decision to create the series, highlighting how the editors arrived at the decision to create not 1 book, but 4. The chapter concludes with consideration of what the content of this particular book, Team Academy and Entrepreneurship Education, investigates in more detail. In particular, critical consideration is given to the way in which the TA culture, experience and approach enables rich and deep learning, told through the experiences, research and stories of key exponents in the TA field.
