ABSTRACT

Esa Díaz-León and Saray Ayala-Lopez argue (pace Dembroff) that sexual orientation language is relational—relating the sex/gender of the subject to the sex/gender of their preferred sexual partners—and dispositional—defined in terms of the dispositions to instantiate certain mental states (sexual desires, fantasies, and so on). They also discuss issues that arise for the ameliorative project of changing sexual orientation language.
