ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the regulatory and ethical landscape within digital and social media, including Twitter, Facebook, terrestrial broadcasting, cable, streaming and emerging services. It also addresses the ebb and flow of regulations from a historical perspective, from radio to television to the Internet. It also addresses harmful speech, including cyberbullying and revenge porn, providing an overview of libel law as speech has transitioned online.
