ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the origins, scope, protections and rights under the area of law known as intellectual property, which includes patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyright. The chapter also examines the specific state and federal agencies, including the courts, that administer and regulate intellectual property laws. Finally, the chapter discusses administrative and court decisions, including U.S. Supreme Court cases.
